American Music beats in the history of Tennessee. It started on the porches of Smoky Mountain farmers and sharecroppers in the Mississippi Delta south of Memphis. It was first recorded in Bristol, evolved through the decades moving to Studios in both Nashville and Memphis, and from the stages of Ryman Auditorium and the Grand Ole Opry House. From the Birthplace of Country Music and the first recordings in 1927 to the modern era of I-Pods and Satellite Broadcasts, you’ll explore the recording of music. From the simple Joys of singing on the porch to the electrifying sounds that rocked the world. This tour is about the music of America and the Recording Studios that produced it.

Come and listen to the music that defines a nation. It began with Jazz in New Orleans. Then the Blues took it up along the plantations of the Mississippi. Come learn how these two distinct musical style co-mingled, moved north to the Cities after the Civil War and later combined to create Rock n’ Roll. They came from the South, near Nashville and Memphis. They revolutionized American Music and this wonderful tour visits their homes, music stages and celebrates the iconic sounds that changed the world. Gather your group, listen for the sounds, look for their footprints and chase the legends.

The roots of American music are firmly planted in the South. There’s no better way to understand southern music or life than to visit the lyrical landscape of the Delta. Here Antebellum Homes and Plantations are surrounded by soulful blues, brassy jazz, Cajun accordions, calliopes and gospel choirs. Come listen to music.

It was the most important event in the History of Country Music. In 1927 in the mountains of Virginia, a talent scout for the Victor Talking Machine Co spent 8 days making the first ever musical recordings. Known as the ‘Bristol Sessions’ that event has also been called “The Big Bang of Country Music,” bring your group and see Country’s origin at the hallowed Carter Family Fold, and its glory at the Grand Ole Opry.

To paraphrase the legendary Muddy Waters, “The Blues got married to The Jazz, and they had themselves a baby they named Rock and Roll.” This trip is a little climb down the family tree as we enjoy the heritage and a little music history from the Mississippi Delta to Graceland.

It’s a very simple recipe. Your take two parts Memphis (get your Mojo simmering) . . . then add New Orleans . . . then you combine two parts of the French Quarter (oh my). . . and Baby, you’ve got a dish that’s gonna make your feet start dancin’ on the street.
