Itinerary
Day by Day Itinerary
Day 1 – Pigeon Forge, TN – Hard Rock Café – Mini Golf
Arrive in Pigeon Forge, TN and check into your hotel for a three night stay. Dinner is included this evening at the Hard Rock Café. In addition to a nice meal and youthful music your students can pick-up a Hard Rock T-Short. Then enjoy an after dinner round of mini golf at Old McDonald’s Mini Golf. (D)
Day 2 – Smoky Mountain Tour – Ripley’s Aquarium Penguin Encounter – Anakeesta Mountain Theme Park
After breakfast this morning, a local guide escorts you deep into Smoky Mountain National Park on a narrated sightseeing tour. Ridge upon ridge of forest straddles the border between North Carolina and Tennessee in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. World renowned for its diversity of plant and animal life, the beauty of its ancient mountains, and the quality of its remnants of Southern Appalachian mountain culture, this is America’s most visited national park. A boxed lunch will be included with your tour today.
Then you visit Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies in Gatlinburg, TN. It is literally teeming with life – over 10,000 exotic sea creatures in 350 individual species. There are more fish in this aquarium than there are people living in the entire town of Gatlinburg. Traveling on moving glide paths, visitors enter the ocean realm and come face to face with thousands of fascinating fishes and menacing sea creatures, everything from barracudas, to rays, to jellyfish, octopi, moray eels and giant sharks! Your visit will include a Penguin Encounter. Meet the Aquarium’s most adorable creatures Face-to-Beak! Interact with one of the playful penguins from the state-of-the-art indoor/outdoor habitat!
Next, is a visit to Anakeesta Mountain Theme Park where your admission includes a scenic ride via the Chondola to the summit of Anakeesta Mountain where you enter the magical Firefly Village. Enjoy spectacular views of downtown Gatlinburg along the way. At the top, you’ll experience majestic scenic views of Mt. LeConte and dinner at the Smokehouse Restaurant.
Here you will stroll along the 16 bridge Tree Canopy Walk 40’–60’ feet above the forest floor, and explore the whimsical Treehouse Village Playground. Follow the Memorial Forest Walk to learn about the November 2016 fire and how it impacted the ‘mountain strong’ community, and discover the new Vista Gardens botanical walk that features walking trails that meander through lush gardens filled with a variety of flowers and plants. You also have the chance to try the Zipline Adventure and race side-by-side with friends on 1,000+ foot zip lines soaring 125′ above the ground. (B,D)
Day 3 – WonderWorks – The Island – Titanic Museum – Pirates Voyage Dinner Show
Start the day at WonderWorks where you experience an upside-down adventure. This once top-secret laboratory was located in the Bermuda triangle. An experiment gone awry lifted the laboratory carrying it to Music Drive in Pigeon Forge, TN where it landed upside down. Luckily all of the exhibits remained intact and available for you to explore.
Your lunch break today is at The Island. It features several cafes and restaurants, plus gift shops of all kinds. Take time to enjoy the Dancing Water Fountain Display in sync to music every hour on the hour. To get a bird’s eye view of the area, you can purchase a ticket to ride “The Wheel”, which rises 200 feet above the city.
This afternoon features a visit to the Titanic Museum Attraction, a tribute to the ship and the 2,208 passengers and crew. First Class Maids and a variety of Officers and crew members bring the stories of the fabled ship and its fascinating passengers to life by retelling their stories in vivid, dramatic detail. The priceless artifacts throughout the museum shed additional light on the lives of those passengers and crew members when guests see the actual belongings of those on board and artifacts that sailed on Titanic’s maiden voyage.
Then tonight at the Pirates Voyage Dinner Show, you join Captain Blackbeard, the most famous pirate to ever sail the seven seas, and his quartermaster Calico Jack as they lead the Crimson and Sapphire crews in an epic battle for lost treasure on land, on deck, in water and high above full-sized pirate ships in a 15 foot deep indoor hideaway lagoon! Ye will thrill at the swashbuckling excitement of spectacular acrobatic competitions, aerial feats, sea lions, tropical birds, beautiful mermaids and much more! Which camp takes the treasure may be up to you as ye cheer me buccaneers to victory, all while ye enjoy a fabulous four-course feast! (B,D)
Day 4 – Depart for Home
After breakfast, you depart for home. (B)
