Itinerary
Day 1 – Tuesday, December 29, 2026 – Pigeon Forge, TN
Arrive today in Pigeon Forge, TN where you enjoy a three-night stay at the Ramsey Hotel (or similar). Tonight, dinner is included at a local restaurant. (D)
Day 2 – Wednesday, December 30, 2026 – Titanic Museum Attraction – Winterfest at The Island – Dollywood Theme Park
After breakfast, enjoy a fascinating self-guided tour at the Titanic Museum Attraction. Step into the past and get a one-of-a-kind “passenger” experience and discover what it was like to walk the hallways, parlors, cabins and Grand Staircase of the Titanic while surrounded by more than 400 artifacts directly from the ship and its passengers.
Touch a real iceberg, walk the Grand Staircase and third-class hallways, reach your hand into 28-degree water, and try to stand on the sloping decks, learn what it was like on the RMS Titanic by experiencing it first-hand. Entering the ship, you will receive a boarding pass of an actual Titanic passenger or crew member. Feel their presence in the galleries where over 400 personal and private artifacts are on display. Many are on display for the first time in the world. Discover your passenger or crew member’s fate at the end of your tour in the Titanic Memorial Room where 2,208 names line this historic wall.
Next, head to The Island for free time and lunch on your own. The Island boasts 23 acres of entertainment with over 80 shops, restaurants and attractions – there is something for everyone. The Island also features Winterfest, holiday celebration that typically runs from late November through January. During this time, The Island is covered in millions of twinkling lights, festive décor, and seasonal displays that create a magical winter atmosphere.
The remainder of the day is spent at Dollywood Theme Park where you can immerse yourself in the spirit of Christmas. Discover a winter wonderland twinkling with over six million twinkling lights, dozens of towering Christmas trees and more, all adding a cheerful glow to award-winning rides and attractions, like the new Peppermint Valley in Country Fair. Embrace this special time of year with all your senses as you discover festive flavors, heartwarming holiday shows, and seasonal shopping, all nestled right in the heart of the Smokies. Discover the warmth, wonder and glow of one of our most cherished holiday traditions at Dollywood. You will receive a meal voucher for dinner. (B, D)
Day 3 – Thursday, December 31, 2026 – Great Smoky Mountain Experience – Free Time in Gatlinburg, TN – Ole Smoky Moonshine Museum & Distillery Tour – Country Tonite Theater – New Year’s Eve Fireworks at The Island
After breakfast, enjoy a fully guided Great Smoky Mountains Experience, enroute to a mile-high location with epic views, The Newfound Gap! Learn about the area plants, animals, pioneers, Native Americans, and of course, hear all the fun-facts about the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the most visited national park in America.
Arrive at Newfound Gap, a very important historic spot where a national park dedication took place in 1940, right at the North Carolina / Tennessee border, on the Appalachia trail. On the way down the mountain from the Newfound Gap, back to Pigeon Forge, there will be more spectacular photo opportunities, lots of history and local lore stories.
Next, enjoy free time and lunch on your own in Gatlinburg. Explore unique, local, and “Smoky Mountain–style” finds rather than big chain malls. Dozens of souvenir shops, candy stores, and boutiques, along with handmade fudge, taffy, jams, hot sauces, T-shirts, Smoky Mountain gifts, and other quirky items.
The afternoon features a tour & tasting at Ole Smoky Moonshine Museum & Distillery. As you approach the entrance, you can detect the distinct smell of their grains cooking and fermenting. You’ll see authentic working moonshine stills and experience the process from beginning to end. Their distillers will take the time to visit with you and answer any questions about the history and lore of moonshining in East Tennessee. Sample their Original Unaged Corn Whiskey, White Lightnin’ and Moonshine Cherries – plus seasonal and special flavors that aren’t available in package stores.
This evening, dinner will be included at a local restaurant. After dinner, enjoy the Country Tonite Christmas Show. The Magic of Christmas abounds as the talented renditions of Christmas favorites combined with beautiful choreography, brightly decorated holiday sets and colorful costumes bring the enchantment of Christmas to the Country Tonite stage. The popular cast covers several holiday classics for a nostalgic, spirited holiday celebration that will be enjoyed by all.
Following the show, head to The Island to celebrate New Year’s Eve in style. Enjoy the largest New Year’s Eve celebration in the Smokies with live music, a dazzling midnight fireworks display, and a festive atmosphere you won’t forget. (B, D)
