Itinerary
Day by Day Itinerary
Day 1 – Pigeon Forge, TN
Arrive today in Pigeon Forge, TN for three nights lodging. Dinner is included this evening at the Applewood Restaurant. At Applewood, all meals are served with their signature Applewood Julep, Apple Fritters and Homemade Apple Butter. (D)
Day 2 – Cades Cove – Lunch at The Abbey – Chocolate Bar Candy Class – Foothills Parkway – Choice of Dinner Show
This morning, enjoy a guided tour of Cades Cove. Journey in tourist vans, on an 11 mile, one-lane looping road into remote Cades Cove. This hidden valley is framed by picturesque mountain peaks and was hunted by the Cherokee for centuries before Europeans arrived around 1820. Many of the original 19th structures from that community of almost 300 people still stand, including three churches, log homes and a water mill near the Visitors center. Here you are literally walking through history with nature by your side. The Cove is one of the Smokies best wildlife viewing areas with herds of white-tailed deer, black bear, coyote, turkey, raccoon, and others.
Next, arrive in the town of Townsend for lunch at The Abbey. Located in an Old Church, The Abbey is a restaurant/tap room located on the Little River. The Abbey is a great way to spend an afternoon, on the patio by the river. Enjoy a peacefully quiet location where you can enjoy a breath of fresh air, serenity and maybe a pint of craft beer.
Following lunch, visit the nearby Chocolate Bar for a Candy Class. Watch how the candy is made and enjoy a demonstration and tasting!
Then enjoy a guided tour of Foothills Parkway, a national parkway that traverses the foothills of the northern Great Smoky Mountains. The Parkway features a series of high ridges running roughly parallel to the Tennessee boundary of Great Smoky Mountains National Park and offer unobstructed views of the Smokies to the south and the Tennessee Valley to the north. There are many breathtaking views with multiple overlooks to take photos and enjoy the scenery.
Returning to Pigeon Forge this evening, you have your choice of Dinner Shows. Choose from: Dolly Parton’s Stampede, Pirates Voyage or Hatfield & McCoy Dinner Feud. (B,L,D)
Day 3 – Morning at Dollywood w/lunch – SkyLand Ranch – Cruze Farm Ice Cream Treat – Country Tonite Show
After breakfast, the morning will be spent at Dollywood Theme Park, known for its world-class entertainment, amazing thrill rides, and family friendly adventure. At Dollywood you’ll enjoy live stage shows, the Dolly museum, real train rides, the American Eagle habitat. You’ll also enjoy watching Dollywood’s master craftsmen and artisans at work proudly continuing the centuries-old traditions of hand-making their arts & crafts with daily demonstrations. Dollywood offers you the chance to immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the Smoky Mountains and the incredible spirit of its people. A Lunch Voucher will be included with your visit to Dollywood.
This afternoon, visit SkyLand Ranch, Pigeon Forge’s newest attraction. Set on a 100-acre farm in the Great Smoky Mountains, SkyLand Ranch combines all your favorite things about the Smoky Mountains into one exciting attraction. Take a ride on a scenic chairlift to the top of Skyland Ranch, where hours of fun await. Experience a mountain coaster that’s over a mile long, a suspended bridge with a canopy walk. SkyLand Ranch is also home to a variety of miniature animals, food barns, and retail shops.
Next, make a stop at Cruze Farm Ice Cream for a sweet treat. Enjoy fresh churned soft serve ice cream made with milk from the local Cruze dairy farm.
Tonight, enjoy a delicious dinner at Five Oaks Farm Kitchen. When supper time rolls around Five Oaks Farm Kitchen has just what you are looking for with fresh greens, hearty soups, fried chicken, prime rib and more!
Following dinner enjoy a fantastic show at Country Tonite. This fast-paced production features a variety of dynamic singing and dancing, side-splitting comedy, powerful gospel, and American patriotism. From the strong talent of the youth performers, to the experienced veterans of the Country Tonite stage and song, the love of God, family and country resonates throughout the show. (B,D)
Day 4 – Apple Barn Winery – Depart for Home
After breakfast, visit the Apple Barn Winery. Located on the banks of the Little Pigeon River in the Apple Barn Village, the Apple Barn Winery offers a unique twist on wine: instead of grapes, they use locally grown apples to handcraft the wine on-site! And while you’re visiting, be sure to visit the world-famous Apple Barn General Store & Cider Mill, two great restaurants, a bakery, and more!
Then depart for home. (B)
